Simple wood or vibrant jewels ? or both ?

Hi anyone
am looking out onto a crisp, frosty Monday morning - a beatiful blue sky too. Today, will be a benchmark day in getting all the dolls onto canvas (From Scratch project) and have a good look at next stage. I have an idea to give each canvas a little step forward each day ? is it possible to add to twelve pictures each day ? I'm going to try it for a short time - perhaps 3-5 days and see if it works. The idea is to try and bring all the pieces into a cohesive whole without losing their individuality ! Will let you know.
Am also pondering Christmas again - have a list of twelve items which I would like to bring in one each day - more thought required but I hope to link directly to my shops so anyone can purchase from here - assuming anyone  out there ? Saw something amazing frames on Crescendo - see below - where can I get some of these frames ? I need to find them.
Found some cute little pegs (better picture than the previous one) for Christmas stuff - will adapt/embellish etc
but they seem to embody one of the Christmas looks for me- I have a jewelled purple/red/pink theme too - more fitting with my main living space -see below these pictures are not brilliant but the room is so messy that nothing else could could be done right now but I do like the simple wood/red thing. My colours are vibrant and very loud but when the space is not littered with stuff its quite calming (for me anyway).

My intentions are to dress up my room with some of the christmas stuff so we can have the before and after shots ! Sounds good hope it works.
Bye for now.

Sugarandspice and pretty paper rings

Hi anyone
another lovely day today (weather) - am running late with life generally and not done any art today yet (feel deprived)- bit of background but ? lost my way with other commitments!!!!
Been thinking about Christmas stuff again and am almost there with my offer for my shops. Take a look at my shops - no Christmas stuff yet - I've added a link on this page and will post up pictures when they materialise.

Also -still working on a big review of the 'project books' -each of my projects has a master plan in the form of a journal book - it evolves rather like 'life' so is up for change and deviation ! but it does allow for regular reviews and helps keep me on track. Had a bit of a dilema (earlier )about the name of one of the projects - I have referred to the collection as the 'nursery' collection in recent weeks - which did'nt do it justice. Its much more than baby stuff - anyway I've called it sugar and spice as 'in what are littleboys/girls made of ?' I think this will work and I like the link with the poem and feel I can use the words in the pictures.

sugarandspice
These pictures are a collage of early versions of the pictures - they will have ribbons to hang up each picture and do look pretty as a collection.

On another subject  - I watched Kirsty Allsop on TV last night (4od) ended up watching 2 episodes - she made a great effort and I particularly liked her paper ring- take alook at the whole programme it was really interesting - gave me loads of ideas for techniques. The embroidery thing on water soluable paper looked fantasticTechnique.
Need to go.
Bye for now

Fabric and painting - at last !

Hi anyone
have switched around my day :- am = nice work and pm = house/home work. I think its working ! (for this week anyway). I have reorganised my computer too - to make visiting my daily reads etc easier and have managed to get a few links on here too showing where some of my inspiration comes from - my blog space is evolving and I'm begining to feel in control of it at last rather than the other way around.
Today, will see all the dolls on canvas in From Scratch series - also need to think about all the made@thepapersac projects and the Room Art book - yes ! its now 'a book to be'. Thinking about the process of book development - its a bit like having another child and is taking just as long.
Miss Mitchell
Another amazing thing for me is the development of Miss Mitchell on fabric. Miss Mitchell is my first ever picture of a painted folk art doll. She has a life and a story and now she will be on fabric with more to come.I organised the printing yesteday and its coming from  - spoonflower - an amazing outfit (take a look ). Look at this lovely thing from their site  Reindeer- my journey to developing fabric has been brewing for a while will tell the whole story when I get the fabric for me to show. It really is a huge bridge within my work - fabric is in my blood and painting (my passion) is truly where my direction is leaning. I have so many ideas that my head is bursting at the moment. Just to add to my excitement, I also came across sarahstrachan she does amazing dolls and is inspiring me to develop this 'fabric/paint art' thing. She recently had a piece on MollieMakes highlighting her work - take a look. Thats it for now.

Creative diversions !

Hi anyone

its a real autumn day today - colours are lovely and lots of leaves about - been busy with my embroidery/cross stitch project - just started yesterday and it turned out rather more involved than anticipated. I took the new stamp (mentioned yesterday) as my starting point and wanted to do some kind of embroidery job ? As I started to think about the process it occurred to me that I would need a pattern ! not sure why this didnt come to mind before but there you are.
However, I found some square paper and I was away - the first try went in the bin but I soon got it together and now have the pattern(s). The characters are not exactly as the stamp as I did them by eye rather than any precise measuring etc. But ,I'm quite pleased with the results so far.I have the idea of red thread but am still a bit unsure about my fabric choice - I do have some traditional cross stitch stuff (I know it has a name but not sure what it is? ) but I like the idea of linen or something linen-like or should I go for a very delicate white cotton ? Must get on with more important things today so will ponder this one - in the meantime here are my patterns.
I'm scheduled to do a whole work review and decide exactly what will go up for sale at Christmas and how to present the stuff. I have a single print in a new  Folksy shop as well as a few items in the Etsy shop. I need to work on getting traffic into these shops instead of being diverted with inviting creative projects !! - can't seem to help myself !!

Bye for now.
